Who is Optimus Pips?

DSC00257-1

Christopher Allen is a former soldier having served 9 years in both the Canadian Army and Air Force. He has seen duty in a handful of countries across the globe ranging from the inviting hot springs of Iceland to the arid deserts of Afghanistan. He conveys the very same sagacity at his “CIC” trading desk that served him just as well as a soldier.

As Director of Currency Trading, Christopher is responsible for the aggressive currency trades for SVP Ltd. Christopher does not run Trials & Tribulations of a Currency Trader as a signal site per se; its purpose was simply as a personal trading journal. After starting to log trades for his own study it became evident that not only was there potential that his journal might help other traders. But it was an excellent way to expand on what he had already learned and engage in discussions with other traders.

In 2009 Christopher resigned his position in the Air Force to pursue a career as a Day Trader. Knowing full well that the geographic restrictions imposed with a normal job no longer applied; he took advantage of the opportunity moving from Edmonton Alberta to Discovery Bay Jamaica in the hopes of “thawing out” for a couple of years.

Christopher has said many times that the years it took for the successful transition from working a 9-5 (or garrison 8-4) for some “bosshole” to working independently overseas on a beach with seemingly boundless freedom was not a smooth transition. To quote Ted Engstrom;

“The rewards for those who persevere far exceed the pain that must precede the victory”

People have often asked how Christopher has managed to achieve so much at such a young age, but considering he first joined the military at the age of 17 and following in his father’s entrepreneurial footsteps. The combination of discipline, principals, and forthrightness learned and adapted from both sources, he has actually had a wealth of experience.
